Chinese company Ease Bangladesh Company Limited is planning to build a brand new shoe factory in Bangladesh to further expand its international business. The export-oriented factory will be located in the BEPZA (Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority) economic zone in Chittagong's Mirsalai district.
For this purpose, EaseBangladesh Company Limited will invest up to US$7.45 million (equivalent to about RMB 53 million) for the construction and development of the factory. This will not only boost the local economy but also provide valuable employment opportunities for thousands of Bangladeshi citizens. The factory is expected to have the capacity to produce 10 million pairs of shoes per year.
On September 8, EaseBangladesh Company Limited and BEPZA officially signed a cooperation agreement at Green Road in the capital city of Dhaka. Mohammad Ashraf Kabir, Investment Development Member, signed the agreement on behalf of BEPZA, while Jane Zaiyi, Managing Director of EaseBangladesh Company Limited, signed the agreement on behalf of the company.
At the signing ceremony, BEPZA Executive Chairman Abul Kalam Muhammad Giaur Rahman, members Muhammad Farooq Alam, A.N.M. Faizul Haque, Executive Director Muhammad Tanil Hussain, BEPZA Economic Zones Program Director Muhammad Inamul Haque, and Executive Director of Public Relations A.S.M. Anuwar Parvez were among the top leaders. Parvez and other senior leaders were present at the ceremony.
According to BEPZA, so far 32 companies have signed agreements to set up factories in BEPZA and the total investment of these companies is expected to reach US$718.5 million.The investment of Ease Bangladesh Company Ltd. will undoubtedly inject new vitality into the prosperity of this economic zone.
